Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH was founded in 1988.
Up to that point in time, both managing directors and shareholders, Mr. Alfred Lindner and Mr. Josef Fischer, had been employees of the Stadler tanker company in Neu-Ulm. The Stadler company ceased production early in 1988. It was therefore possible to take over all the equipment necessary for tank and vehicle construction.

The necessary company grounds were found in Langenau, which were initially rented and finally purchased in 1990.
Business was begun with 10 employees, all from the former “Stadler” workforce.

In 1992, new construction of an additional production hall was planned and was moved into in 1993. All containers were manufactured in this hall from 1993 until the end of 1997.

In 1994, the first branch office was subsequently founded in Seefeld (near Berlin) as an independent, one hundred per cent subsidiary of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH, Langenau under the name of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau und Service GmbH.
From 1994 to 1998, a building with workshop halls was rented for operations at the bulk storage tank warehouse in Seefeld.
In 1997, a new construction was planned, which was begun in the newly developed industrial area late in 1997. The new workshop complex with administrative buildings was occupied in May 1998.
The decision was likewise made in 1994 to open a branch in the north. Lindner & Fischer Nord, Fahrzeugbau GmbH therefore emerged, which was opened on 2nd November 1996 following a new construction in the industrial area in Fallingbostel and was also operated as an independent one hundred per cent subsidiary of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH in Langenau.
In August 1996, a further production hall with a plot of land was acquired directly next to the existing production plant in Langenau. Tank construction was subsequently transferred there in 1998.

In 2001, Mr. Jürgen Wilhelm joined the GmbH as a new managing shareholder alongside the present managing shareholders. Herr Wilhelm has been an employee at L&F since 1992 and has headed design since 1996.
From the former Kässbohrer staff, Mr. Siegfried Bührle additionally joined Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH as a managing shareholder in 2002.

Lindner & Fischer were already always good when it came to new products and innovations in the sector of tankers for mineral oil transport.

In this manner, the concept chassis “tank superstructure without a subframe" was introduced and established in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The lowered tank semi-trailer in pressure vessel construction was presented in 1991.

L&F was the first tanker manufacturer to produce the central axle tank trailer for hazardous goods in 1993. This was followed in 1998 by the central axle tank trailer with a total permissible weight of 20.7 to. The central axle tank trailer now numbers among the most frequently sold trailers from the L&F company. In the version with a total permissible weight of 20.7 t, it is the only trailer that achieves this tonnage with 2 axles. Today, we are able to successfully look back over many years of market leadership with our central axle trailers in the Federal Republic of Germany and further extend these products.

Presented for the first time in 1998 on the occasion of the 10th company anniversary and the company exhibition:
the tank semi-trailer with calibrated, electronic dipsticks.
The electronic dipsticks replace the measuring unit. This results in a gain in useful load of approx. 500 kg for a tank semi-trailer.

In addition to the complete mineral oil transport vehicle series, there are other mainstays that have been developed over the last 20 years. The product range of agricultural technology one of these major mainstays. Here, primarily heavy transport vehicles for farmers and contractors are manufactured. Also for agricultural use, liquid manure transport vehicles with fixed or replaceable load carriers are produced.
For a short time now, lubricating oil units in mobile and stationary versions and lubricating oil container filling units have formed part of the Langenau product range and are being further developed as a third mainstay.
As a reaction to the transformation in the fuel market and the demand for alternative forms of energy, silo vehicles for wood pellet transport have formed a fourth mainstay in the Lindner & Fischer – product portfolio since 2008.

All products of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH are also manufactured for export outside Europe. The main export countries include Africa, the Near and Far East, Asia and South America.

In 1999, a calibration test bench for mineral oil hazardous goods vehicles was commissioned and has been authorised as the calibration processing office of Baden-Württemberg since May 1999.

From 2002 onwards, the management dictated that the export department should be extended to become the market leader in tanker export. This aim was successfully achieved and it has been possible for many years already to maintain and extend the position of market leader. During the same year, our agricultural technology department developed a new generation of vehicles for agriculture with the main design focuses of optimisation of useful load, corrosion protection and interchangeable vehicle systems.
Likewise, designs in the tanker field for the construction industry, lubricating oil transport tankers, disposal vehicles in the mineral oil and hazardous goods area and drinking water supply vehicles for deployment in catastrophes were promoted and adopted in the product range of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH.

In 2006, all the company buildings at the company headquarters in Langenau were thoroughly renovated and the administrative block was transformed and modernised. Investments both in the already always modern fleet of machines and in training and further training of employees were stepped up during the past years. The fully automatic bottom edging machine which is unique in Germany and in the German tanker sector is therefore located at the parent plant in Langenau for example. This increases the quality of the manufactured tank bottoms many times over in comparison to those otherwise conventionally produced by hand, since they manufacture the tank bottoms considerably more precisely, with a more exact fit and more economically in terms of costs and time, without the material fatigue that arises with manual manufacture.
Likewise, during the ongoing business year 2006, the companies Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau und Service GmbH, Seefeld and Lindner & Fischer Nord Fahrzeugbau GmbH in Bad Fallingbostel which had been independent until that time were incorporated in Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH with its head office in Langenau, so that henceforth the two one hundred per cent subsidiaries trade as branches of Lindner & Fischer Fahrzeugbau GmbH.

Lindner & Fischer now numbers among the largest tanker manufacturers in Germany and has been able during the past 20 to years to successfully extend and reinforce its market position and status on the national and international vehicle manufacturing market.
